Holiday events and celebrations are filling up the December calendar around The Wildwoods (Wildwood, NJ). From Wildwood Crest, the Wildwoods Convention Center to  North Wildwood, a number of holiday events mark the calendar, starting December 2nd and 3rd, 2011.

December 2, 2011

The Jaycees Christmas Parade on Friday night at 7 p.m. In the past, the parade began at 16th Avenue in North Wildwood, ending at Heather Avenue (Crest Pier) in Wildwood Crest.  At 8 p.m. merrymakers head to tree lighting tradition and observe the Wildwoods Convention Center parade awards ceremony.

December 3, 2011

The day starts with  family centric activities at the  Wildwoods Convention Center. In the spirit of the holiday events and festivities, admission is complimentary at the Wildwoods Convention Center lobby, where crafters vend seasonal collections and families enjoy free entertainment. There’s even a schedule of free classic Christmas flicks,  featuring  ”Rudolph,”  ”Frosty the Snowman,” “The Grinch,” and more). Other highlights are the holiday bazaar, face painters and perhaps several live performances from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.  (Please visit http://www.wildwoodholiday.com for additional holiday events and festivity details).

Meanwhile, another Christmas tree lighting ceremony illuminates at the Hereford Inlet Lighthouse (1st & Central Avenues, North Wildwood). This free holiday event also includes refreshments and an appearance by Santa Claus (5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m)

Later Saturday night from 7 pm to 9 p.m. (December 2, 2011), holiday events and festivities conclude with a happy holiday’s open house tour at the J. Thompson Baker House (clubhouse of Wildwood Civic Club, 3008 Atlantic Avenue); Summer Nights Bed & Breakfast (2110 Atlantic Avenue); and Candlelight Bed & Breakfast (24th and Central Avenue).
