As the summer season in Wildwood NJ is merely a distant memory, the sentiment of the holiday season is in the air.  From radio stations, traffic lights to Christmas happenings, the mood in Wildwood, New Jersey exudes a quietude never seen during the sizzling months of the year.

Around the idyllic streets of The Wildwoods, it’s beginning to look and sound like Christmas. Holiday decorations are not the only telltale signs of the holiday season 2011. From the local radio station to the Wildwoods Convention Center, several noteworthy happenings are underway.

Wildwood’s local radio station, 93.1 WEZW-FM starting playing Christmas music two weeks ago. The station will maintain the programming schedule for the next 10 weeks. Classic holidays songs by Bing Cosby, Natalie King Cole and  perhaps Frank Sinatra should be included in the repertoire.

With few tourists navigating the streets of Wildwood NJ, traffic lights are being modulated to account for lighter traffic. Over the winter, flashing lights will take over regular light changes.

As usual local organizations, bed and breakfasts and the Jaycee’s will continue to honor holiday traditions over the Christmas holiday season in Wildwood, New Jersey. Even the Wildwoods Convention Center plans to host a weekend of family centric events, catering to local and frequent Wildwoods visitors.

In other news, Mayor Ernie Toriano, Jr. is giving stay-cationers another enticing reason to return to Wildwood, New Jersey: horseback riding. In an effort to generate revenue for the Jersey Shore’s coffers. Mayor Ernie Troiano Jr. plans to introduce horseback riding as another attraction along  the Jersey Shore in Wildwood. However, Wildwood commissioners plan to impose a 1600 ft. boundary from the water’s edge.
